Meet Salma

Salma Schempp's purpose is centered on sharing the knowledge and practice of holistic meditation while exploring the art of design. Drawing from her diverse studies at international meditation schools and her own personal holistic meditation practice, she firmly believes that understanding the theory and experiencing the essence of holistic meditation can profoundly impact the mind's ability to retrain itself (neuroplasticity) and effectively manage unsettled emotions, which are often linked to anxiety and depression. Her holistic approach to meditation emphasizes the importance of uncovering the deeper meanings behind our emotions to promote well-being and nurture emotional intelligence. She highlights the crucial role of identifying, understanding, and acknowledging our emotions as fundamental components of a mindful lifestyle.

In 2004, Salma collaborated with her primary doctor as a Preksha meditation therapist, assisting patients with anxiety and depression. During this period, she organized numerous holistic events targeting wellness communities, including a successful event at John Muir Hospital in Walnut Creek, California.

From 2006 to 2015, Salma served as the CEO and Director of the Alternative & Holistic Health Center in Walnut Creek and Fremont, California. During her tenure, she collaborated closely with integrative medical doctors, taught meditation, and provided various holistic therapies. In 2008, she designed and launched her first meditation collection.

Between 2015 and 2022, Salma dedicated herself as a meditation therapist at the Holistic Health Center of Walnut Creek, leading the Stress Management Program. Leveraging her expertise in one-on-one counseling and holistic meditation therapy, Salma aimed to guide patients suffering from anxiety and depression towards a deeper understanding of meditation and mindfulness.

Salma's innovative efforts and commitment to holistic meditation inspire others to realize the innate sense of well-being and the incredible power of their minds, encouraging them to adopt a mindful lifestyle.

A recent Harvard study found that individuals who practice mindfulness meditation subjectively reported feelings of increased focus and decreased stress. The study confirmed these findings, proving that meditation physically increases density in the learning and emotion-regulating centers of the brain. Furthermore, meditation physically decreases density in parts of the brain that recognize (and hold on to) stress, such as fear and anxiety.
